Nothing exists outside of our mind, body, and soul. It's who we are as living creatures and what drives us into action. Unfortunately, we can lose sight of one or more of these categories causing friction in our lives. In this episode, I interview Nicole Unice as we learn how to connect your mind, body, and soul into perfect harmony.

I remember reading books as a little girl, hearing stories about kids who kept journals. I never really understood it - definitely not something that fit into my personality. Not because I was necessarily out of touch with my emotions, but the act of writing seemed so daunting.

Let's say, writing was never a skill of mine, and it certainly wasn't one I had intentions of using.

Funny how the tables have turned.

Now, I'm more passionate about journaling than ever. In fact, I have come to rely on it daily as a form of health. Today, I want to share just why journaling is one of the best tools in healing, in health, and how to get started.

Inside today's podcast, I share the healing benefits of journaling, why its crucial to everyday life, and how to get started.

I'm no stranger to the effects food had on my mood. I realized this nearly two years ago when I eliminated the top allergens like gluten and dairy from my diet. Of course, when it's not in your diet, you don't always recognize how well you feel. But when you put it back in man do you notice.

Or at least I did.

I've narrowed down my specific mood culprit to gluten. It hits me like a freight train roughly 24 hours after exposure and takes a solid 24 hours for me to become rational again. It's not like I feel bad, I just can't seem to shake the mood. The constant annoyance and anger that lurks under my skin, waiting for the moment to erupt.

It's not pretty and something I consciously work to avoid for the sake of my health and my family.

While I know it's not readily understood - that food can impact your mood - there is actual science to why this happens and what you should know about eating for your mood. Inside this podcast, I break it all down and share my healing strategies for health.

Many scientific studies, including research by renowned psychologists Robert Emmons and Michael McCullough, have found gratitude is one of the highest forms of healing known to man. People who consciously focus on gratitude experience greater emotional well-being and physical health than those who don't. In fact, it's more than just a feeling, their research has shown that people who consistently practice gratitude;

  • Feel better about their lives as a whole
  • Experience more significant levels of joy and happiness
  • Felt optimistic about the future
  • Got sick less often
  • Exercised more regularly
  • Had more energy, enthusiasm, determination, and focus
  • Made more considerable progress toward achieving important personal goals
  • Slept better and awoke feeling refreshed
  • Felt stronger during trying times
  • Enjoyed closer family ties
  • Were more likely to help others and offer emotional support
  • Experienced fewer symptoms of stress

If we link this back to health, then we know gratitude must be part of the equation. It's essential if you want more happiness, joy, and energy. Inside today's podcast, we dive into why gratitude is better than a diet and your challenge to start practicing gratitude today.

It's a bold statement to say, the story you tell yourself is determining your health. I know it sounds big and possibly just another woo-woo thing someone would try to convince you makes a difference - but there is actual science to back it up. Inside this post, we dive into how the stories you tell yourself changes your brain chemistry and drives action. Check it out here.

"Sticks and stones can break my bones but words will never hurt me."

I remember saying this all the time, threatening hurtful words and convincing myself that they wouldn't hurt - but boy did they sting.

Words hurt, and sometimes bad. In fact, some of the most damaging things to the human body are words. I know, words and thoughts used to be believed to be things that just happened and floated around in space without any real implication.

But we know that isn't true and we can even see and feel the implications of words as the emotions race through our body. Just as your face gets flushed when you're embarrassed or butterflies emerge in your stomach when you're nervous or excited. Words have a purpose and great depth in our lives.

And the stories you tell yourself can change the entire outcome.

This week on the podcast, I dive into stories and the chemical effect they are having on our brain and actions. We'll answer the question, can changing your brain chemistry, through stories, change your outcome. Make sure you listen in to get all of the details.

Looking to the left or the right seems to be a part of human nature. Our drive to be where we're not is fed by beautiful pictures on social media, a world telling us to work harder and hustle more, combined with a nagging feeling that we're never enough.

But has comparison ever helped anyone achieve anything? It doesn't tend to be a motivating factor, instead quite the opposite. That's why it's time to put to rest comparison and step into contentment which leads to fulfillment. In this episode of Monday Motivation, you'll learn five ways to end comparison.
